Danny Griego Our Feature Artist July 14 - 20, 2013 On A1-Country, Lightning Country Radio

The roads leading into and out of Nashville have carried many Artists and Songwriters. Only scant few combine those travels with the kind of craftsmanship learned firsthand from the masters of Country Music. Having literally lived in the stables of Hall of Famers Hank Cochran, Red Lane, Max D. Barnes, and Waylon Jennings, Danny Griego has built his real life experiences into his trade. Penning songs recorded by the Legendary Waylon Jennings, Billy Joe Shaver, and Micheal Martin Murphey, Danny has lived his musical fire.
Cutting his trail alongside time-tested traditional recording artists like Marty Robbins, Danny’s sound includes a unique mixture of Spanish and English. His family legacy includes the founding of El Paso TX in 1598, and the colonization of Santa Fe New Mexico in 1610. This pioneer stock lends a rich authenticity to his music. Having performed over 3000 live shows, called “pay’n your dues” adds to his grit. Industry insiders consider his traditional country with a Spanish flare something unique. Words like “real,” “straight” and “grounded” are used to describe him. An avid hunter, fisherman, and horseman, this Cowboy singer hangs his hat in Texas.  When we asked him what his favorite all time written work was, we expected him to give us a Haggard song title. He simply replied, without hesitation, “The Bible.” There are good works coming down the road from this Hombre!!!
Danny's music will be spotlighted all week starting on Sunday, July 14, 2013 on A1-Country, Lightning Country Radio. Listen Online:

Giddy Up! Scott Hooper To Be Featured On A1-Country, Lightning Country Radio

Country music’s influence knows no bounds. Today our industry finds their gems in unlikely places, like Sagamore Beach, Massachusetts. This is what happened with singer/songwriter Scott Hooper, who recently signed with Lamon Records.
Scott began singing country music in the Bay State at a young age and paired his voice with a guitar at age 15. While developing his talent, he found a skill to set him apart and keep country music fans all over New England entertained – he could alter his voice to sound like a variety of artists.
Scott began to imitate the likes of Bob Seger, Bon Jovi, Brooks & Dunn, Tim McGraw, as well as Lynyrd Skynyrd and Elvis while his natural charisma gave him a magnetic stage presence. His cover band successfully toured the United States. However, Scott’s heart kept calling him back to country music. He dissolved the band and took to writing his own material with his brother Stephen and his wife Cara.
“I tend to like songs with high energy and songs that make a person think,” Scott said. “I like upbeat, driving songs that just might make the listener want to ‘step on it’. The songs that touch a listener, that might make them reflect and feel happy, are always very rewarding to me.”
The trio has a catalog of over 40 songs together and several of them are slated to be recorded this month in Nashville for Scotts upcoming album with Lamon Records.
Dave Moody, Grammy nominated/Dove Award winning artist/producer and President of Lamon Records will produce the album. “Scott has a strong, modern, Country voice,” Dave said. “His songwriting is very contemporary and commercial. Our staff was very impressed with his vocal range as well as the songs he’s writing.”
Listen starting Sunday, July 7, 2013 as we spotlight Scott's music all week on A1-Country, Lightning Country Radio. Listen online at:

Taylor Made To Be Featured On A1-Country, Lightning Country Radio

Hailing from Taylor County, West Virginia, country group Taylor Made is comprised of siblings Wendy Williams, Greg Duckworth and Brian Duckworth. The group’s hallmark, debuted in their first single “Heavy Duty Beauty”, is their three-part sibling harmony. “Our mom taught us to sing,” explains Wendy. “We would all sing on the back porch and the neighbors would holler out songs they wanted us to sing.” Despite being raised in a home where music was a way of life rather than a hobby, the siblings of Taylor Made are the only three out of the seven total Duckworth siblings who have taken to performing as adults. Listen for Taylor Made to be featured and there music spotlighted June 30 - July 6, 2013 on A1-Country, Lightning Country Radio. Listen Online: www.a1country.com

Ash Bowers Is This Weeks Featured Artist On A1-Country, Lightning Country Radio

Besides playing bars and honky-tonks all over the U.S., he scored opening slots on two of the biggest new tours in country music: Jason Aldean’s Wide Open Tour and Eric Church’s Young and Wilder Tour. His songwriting also captured the attention of Wide Open Music Group president, Steve Williams, who approached him to record an album for the newly formed Wide Open Records. “Of course I was up for it,” Ash beams. He hit the studio with a vision and the same blue-collar work ethic he had at Tennessee Tractor. In order to maintain his musical integrity, he co-produced the project with Noel Golden and Billy Decker. He also kept writing songs and what he didn’t keep for his own project, was quickly snatched up by artists like Randy Houser, Bucky Covington and score of independent artists who see in Ash what they want for themselves...warm, energetic, catchy tunes that emanate from a hard-working, heartland mindset that reminds you how real life makes real good music. But now it’s his turn to shine. “A good friend once told me, ‘Ash, I’ve been in this town for a long time, but ain’t nobody in the world better at being you than you. So, that’s what you need to do.’ And he’s exactly right.” Listen for Ash to be Featured on A1-Country, Lightning Country Radio starting Sunday.

Jeff Jacobs Band Our Featured Artist Starting Sunday June 9, 2013 On A1-Country, Lightning Country

The Jeff Jacobs Band is a rockin' Texas quintet that blends country, rock, and a little southern spice to create a sound like no other. While guitar driven you will hear the songs blended well with vocal harmonies as well as some steel guitar and the occasional mandolin. The rhythm section stays tight in the pocket to compliment all the creative sounds coming out of the guitar trio. Original songs are the way of this band. You may here an occasional cover but the passion of the band members has them constantly working on and performing their own creative material. A very eclectic group that pound for pound can take the stage with just about any group in the scene.

The Jeff Jacobs Band was formed in San Antonio by veteran musicians Jeff Jacobs and Nathan Schmidt in the winter of 2012. Both were in previous Texas bands such as Vendetta Mind, Distorted Reality, Thumbs Revenge, and Jeff Lubin and the Jtrain. Jeff and Nathan wanted to form an original band unlike what they have been hearing in the scene. Jeff posted an online ad looking for musicians. CJ Gore (Rockus Circus, The Standouts) answered the ad and Jeff went to see him perform. Jeff then invited CJ to take part in a jam session with Nathan and himself. The three hit it off and were ready to get the train down the tracks. Shortly after words Gil Ramirez answered the same ad and joined the group. He was a perfect fit. The guys rehearsed a handful of times and felt that something was missing from the group. Jeff decided to call up his friend and former band mate Jeff Cox. After one rehearsal the group knew he was the right man for the job. The Jeff Jacobs band continues to rehearse and is taking their show on the road.
For more details visit the Jeff Jacobs Band Website at: www.jeffjacobs.com, and listen starting Sunday as their music will be spotlighted all week on A1-Country, Lightning Country Radio.

Evans stated that "givin a second chance, she blew it" "she doesn't even deserve to be an artist for any genre after making her comments on national tv this morning"
"I hope her single and album become a flop, she's proved once again to be a loud mouth" "She must have forgot without Country Music, she'd not be where she is today" "Hate to say it, I wish her nothing but bad luck"

Thank You

I've been asked to play with our New Blog Page and RSS Feed via our Country News Page.
First I'd like to welcome you to the A1-Country Radio Network. In our everyday operation I find that sometimes I just don't get to say it enough...Thank You!!
So I have decided to test our feeds and post with a Thank You letter to all of the folks that have help make this Radio Network the success that it is.

First, The day to day folks: Our Network Production Genius and Assistant Program Director, Mr. Trevor Alan who came on board about a year and a half ago. Trevor is amazing and a huge part to our day to day operations. Then Ashley Marie, She has a ton of duties...too many to put here. Ashley came on board shortly after Trevor. These folks were a big part in the production of our former morning show. They knew little about radio, however as they ventured in day after day and quickly learned the operations of the network, They are no doubt a huge asset. Thank You!
Second, It's folks like Darryl Langley at Audio Tracks Broadcasting who work hard with the Prime Country USA family of shows. Darryl recently promoted himself to host of the Prime Country USA Hot Country Countdown following former host John Stevens. Suzanne Jalot the host for Prime Country USA. Both of these shows air every Sunday on Lightning Country Radio. Without them we'd have no weekly countdown or Prime Country USA. I carry Prime Country USA with Suzanne Jalot because like Darryl once said, "Suzanne is one of the best in the business" Her talent is one in a million and what has made Prime Country USA a huge success with our listeners. To the both I say Thank You!

I could go on and on with the folks that help make this network a success. Remember that this is just me playing around to satisfy our awesome Web Team. I'm sure i'll have plenty to say about each and every person in the future, However let's wrap this up for now.
Here are just a few more who play a big part in the network.
Buck McCoy, Debbie Fee, Larry Weir, Keith Michaels, Steve Southard, Tammy Swanson, Pastor Paul Southerland, Josh Hayes Johnny Stone, Steve Warren and who could forget the voice of Lightning Country and Country Legends, Mr. Chris Birmingham.
I'm sure I have missed many others, however, Thank You.
I couldn't do it without you.

Mark Evans
Station Manager / PD
